The details:
According to the Times, D.C., in recent months, has undergone a significant transformation.
Per the outlet:
President Trump’s deployment of federal law enforcement officers in August across Washington — intended, officials said, to lower crime — transformed what was one of the largest sanctuary cities in the country into a test case for Immigration and Customs Enforcement as it expands its efforts in major urban centers.
The outlet then goes on to describe how federal and local law enforcement have worked together to combat illegal immigration in D.C.
It reports:
ICE had made only 85 arrests in Washington from Jan. 20 through the end of July, according to data obtained by the Deportation Data Project. But from early August until mid-September, ICE made around 1,200 arrests, according to officials with knowledge of the data.
Assistant Homeland Security Secretary Tricia McLaughlin has put out a statement revealing the arrests of "gang members, kidnappers, drug traffickers and other violent thugs" in the nation's capital. "Criminal aliens are a public safety threat, and there should be no place for sanctuary policies that place crime over the community," McLaughlin said.

Just the News recently reported on a revelation from the FBI that it has arrested more than 8,000 individuals, from various regions of the country, in the past three months.
"The FBI on Thursday announced that its efforts to crack down on violent crime nationwide had yielded more than 8,600 arrests over the span of three months, and the seizure of over 2,200 guns," the outlet reported.
It continues:
The bureau conducted "Operation Summer Heat" from June 24 through September 20, which featured teams from all 55 FBI field offices and other law enforcement partners. The initiative cracked down on violent crime in major U.S. cities. FBI Director Kash Patel said the operation netted 8,629 arrests, and the seizure of 2,281 guns and 44,559 kilograms of cocaine. It also took 421 kilograms of fentanyl off the streets.
Patel is reported as saying, "We are not messing around."
