Melania Trump shares video of AI body double, sparking questions

Why would First Lady Melania Trump share an AI-generated video of herself appearing out of nowhere in Trump Tower?

That's the question the internet is asking after the video was posted on her official @MelaniaMeme X account on Wednesday with the caption "Into the future."

The most common speculation arising from the video was that she would send a hologram to future appearances as First Lady instead of appearing in person.

Is it all fake?

"HHHHHHH! You personally don't have to make appearances with [Donald] anymore if they can hologram you! Got it!" one user commented on the video.

To me, the video looked fake enough that it would be easy to tell if she isn't really present at a future time and place.

Although Melania is 55 and does have some smile lines and other faint signs of age, the AI body double's face had none of that.

It's fun to play with AI image and video editing, I've done it myself and gotten all kinds of results. Is it such a stretch to believe that Melania Trump was doing the same thing, and decided to post one that she especially liked?

What it really means

But of course, trolls on the internet insist on promoting the idea that Melania doesn't like her husband and can't stand being around him, just because they don't like him and hate the reality of him being president.

There has long been speculation that she used a body double for some appearances during Trump's first term, according to Metro, but nothing was ever proven. People just said they noticed slight differences in her features and gestures.

Most likely, the video will be used to help sell the first lady's cryptocurrency and boost her brand in that way.

The meme account is associated with her cryptocurrency $MELANIA, which saw a 7% jump in value in the 24 hours since she posted the video.

$MELANIA now trades at $0.182, according to crypto site Decrypt. That's still a huge drop from its peak of $13.05 in January when it was introduced.

Still, the Trump family is getting into crypto in a major way, and first son Eric Trump said last week that he believes crypto is the future of finance.
