Fani Willis' Trump case could soon be tossed
It appears that the case that infamous Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis (D) brought against President Donald Trump could be on the verge of being thrown out.
The judge overseeing the case, according to Fox 5 Atlanta, just warned the prosecution that, if a new prosecutor is not appointed soon, the case will be tossed.
This, of course, comes after Willis was removed from the case.

Background
Willis's attempt to prosecute Trump went off the rails when she managed to land herself at the center of multiple controversies. The biggest of all was her decision to pick her lover, Nathan Wade, to lead the prosecution of Trump.
Despite the scandals, Willis refused to step aside, and it was not until last month that the defense finally managed to get her removed from the case.
"The Georgia Court of Appeals in December ruled that Willis and her office could not continue to prosecute the case, citing an "appearance of impropriety" stemming from her romantic relationship with special prosecutor Nathan Wade," Fox News, at the time, reported.
The outlet continued, "Willis appealed to the Georgia Supreme Court in January, but . . . the high court declined in a 4-3 decision to take up the case. One judge didn’t participate and another was disqualified.
Now, if the district attorney's office wants to continue with its prosecution of Trump, it needs a new prosecutor.
The latest
The Fulton County Superior Court just informed Willis's office that time is running out for it to appoint a new prosecutor.
Fox 5 Atlanta reports:
A notice filed in Fulton County Superior Court said the case will be tossed "for want of prosecution" unless the Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council of Georgia names a replacement or requests an extension within 14 days. The filing applies to Trump and 14 co-defendants still facing racketeering and other charges tied to efforts to overturn Georgia’s 2020 election results.
At the time of this writing, there has been no response from Willis's office.
In the meantime, Willis has managed to make news headlines for another reason: she has finally agreed to testify before the Georgia Senate.
CBS News reports:
Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has agreed to appear before a Georgia Republican-led Senate committee investigating how she led the prosecution of President Trump and others . . . Writing on X, state Sen. Greg Dolezal announced that Willis would appear under oath before the committee on Nov. 13.
