Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker revealed, over the weekend, that President Donald Trump is sending roughly 400 National Guard troops from Texas to various regions of the country, including Illinois and Oregon.

Fox News reports that Pritzker revealed as much on Sunday.

Suffice it to say that the Democrat governor is not happy about the situation.

Trump launches "invasion"

This is how Pritzker is trying to characterize the situation.

In one of the messages that he posted to social media over the weekend, he wrote:

This evening, President Trump is ordering 400 members of the Texas National Guard for deployments to Illinois, Oregon, and other locations within the United States. No officials from the federal government called me directly to discuss or coordinate.

It was in the follow-up message that he characterized Trump's move as "an invasion."

The governor continued:

We must now start calling this what it is: Trump’s Invasion. It started with federal agents, it will soon include deploying federalized members of the Illinois National Guard against our wishes, and it will now involve sending in another state’s military troops.

Pritzker went on to post two more messages. In one, he called for Texas's governor to "withdraw support," and, in the other, he argued that "the brave men and women who serve in our national guards must not be used as political props."

"I fully authorize..."

President Trump, at the time of this writing, has yet to give Pritzker the time of day. But, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) has.

"I fully authorized the President to call up 400 members of the Texas National Guard to ensure safety for federal officials. You can either fully enforce protection for federal employees or get out of the way and let Texas Guard do it," he wrote.

Abbott continued, "No Guard can match the training, skill, and expertise of the Texas National Guard. They defend our country with pride. America must also know that Texas still has thousands of National Guard assisting with the Border security."

Fox News helps to put this situation into context.

Per the outlet:

In recent days, large numbers of protesters have rioted against immigration enforcement actions across the country. ICE shared a video of a Portland protester being wheeled into custody on Sunday. In Broadview, Illinois, on Friday, more than a dozen people were arrested by federal agents during protests at an ICE processing facility. Agents were seen firing pepper balls, tear gas and rubber bullets to clear crowds.
