All sorts of juicy information regarding past administrations seems to be coming out, including new revelations that former President Bill Clinton was receiving payments through a "backdoor arrangement."

According to JustTheNews, Senate Judiciary Committee Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) released a document from 2017 as part of a political corruption probe that revealed the bombshell information.

The information came about during a hearing between the Iowa Republican senator and U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi.

The document that revealed the backdoor payment arrangement "includes a case update drafted by then-Supervisory Special Agent Tim Thibault about the Washington Field Office’s public corruption investigation into Virginia Democrat Gov. Terry McAuliffe linking former President Clinton to the case."

What's going on?

The document revealed that a man called Doug Band used a company called Teneo to make the "pass-through" payments to the former president.

“McAuliffe case – Steven Sullivan, Chief Financial Officer of Teneo was interviewed in New York City. Info provided seemed to confirm, Teneo was used as a pass through for Doug Band to pay former President of the United States," the document read.

Sen. Grassley, in his opening statement, said "Doug Band was a Deputy Assistant to then-President Clinton and continued working for him post-presidency. Therefore, it’s pretty clear the reference to ‘President of the United States’ is Bill Clinton."

The Iowa Republican added, "This information confirms there was an FBI case on McAuliffe, and it indicates the Clintons and their associates were relevant to it."

Grassley then asked the main question -- was the situation investigated properly as it would have happened if was a case involving President Trump or was it swept away, out of the public light.

"Did the FBI throw its resources behind this matter just like it did against Trump and his associates? Or did they sweep it all under the rug?" Grassley asked.

"Aggressive strategy"

Band was instrumental in making sure Clinton got paid, setting up what was described as an "aggressive" strategy for Bill Clinton's speaking engagements.

He also became a primary player in Clinton's orbit.

The outlet noted:

Teneo, the firm mentioned in the case update, has close ties to both Bill and Hillary Clinton, and its owner, Doug Band, is a close ally of the political couple. He worked for then-President Clinton in the White House Counsel’s office. After the government, he became a central figure in Bill Clinton’s post-presidency, helping to set up the Clinton Foundation and the Clinton Global Initiative.

The probe is the latest quest to find out if previous administrations acted unfairly in targeting Republicans while protecting high-level Democrats.
