Ex-Congresswoman faces backlash over abuse scandal
An ex-member of Congress, who is a Democrat, is facing accusations of abuse, both in her personal and professional life.
The ex-congresswoman, according to the New York Post, is Katie Porter.
Porter used to represent a California district in Congress. Now, she is running to become the next governor of California, but her campaign has hit a bit of a snag.
According to Katie Porter's ex-husband in their divorce docs, she once poured boiling potatoes on his head, struck him in the face when he tried to stop her from yelling at their kid, among other psychopathic shit.https://t.co/58JHGDb6He pic.twitter.com/AkyCNsi6Jy

A growing scandal
At the time of this writing, it is hard to keep up with this story, as more and more damning evidence continues to come to light. This all started when she recently walked out of an interview.
"California Democratic gubernatorial candidate Katie Porter went viral Tuesday evening after a clip from a recent interview spread across social media showing her repeatedly lashing out at a reporter and trying to end the interview," Fox News reported.
The outlet goes on to quote the exchange between Porter and the reporter. Fox reports:
"I don't want to keep doing this, I'm going to call it," Porter said. "You're not going to do the interview?" Watts said as Porter tried to remove her microphone. "Nope, not like this I'm not, not with seven follow-ups to every single question you ask," Porter responded. When Watts reminded Porter that every candidate had answered the question, Porter said, "I don't care." Porter told Watts after being pressed even more that she doesn't "want to have an unhappy experience with you" and that she doesn't "want this all on camera."
Porter, afterward, attempted to explain this all away. Then, however, a video came to light about how Porter has treated her staff in the past.
Breitbart News reports:
Obtained by Politico on Wednesday, the video shows Porter speaking with former Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm in July 2021, before she cursed at a staffer for interjecting to correct her on a policy detail. “Get out of my f****** shot!” Porter yelled at the staffer in the video.
It's only getting worse
This is already a lot of controversy for one political candidate to handle. The situation, however, only seems to be getting worse for Porter.
The Daily Mail just released a report revealing how Porter allegedly treated her ex-husband.
Per the outlet:
Now, the Daily Mail has reviewed the Iowa-born progressive's divorce papers from March 2013, which paint a picture of allegedly belligerent behavior potentially dating back more than a decade. The legal documents trace her split from Matthew Hoffman and detail how she allegedly frequently screamed at him and their children, and on one occasion even allegedly dumped a bowl of steaming hot boiled potatoes over his head.
We do, of course, have to be careful about allegations made in divorce proceedings, but this behavior would seem to be in line with everything else that we are learning about Porter.
The big question is whether Porter's campaign can survive all of this. Time will tell. It certainly helps that she is a far-left Democrat, and she is running for governor of one of the darkest blue states in the country.
