Zohran Mamdani chased by pro-Israel demonstrators following Manhattan event

During an interview with NBC News earlier this year, New York mayoral Democratic candidate Zohran Mamdani would not condemn those who use the phrase "globalize the intifada."

The move brought charges of antisemitism, and those allegations were voiced again late last week when pro-Israel forced him to run from an event in Manhattan's Foley Square.

Demonstrator demands that Mamdani denounce Hezbollah and sharia law

According to Breitbart, the incident took place on Friday after Mamdani attended a rally to show support for New York Attorney General Letitia James.

James was indicted by the Department of Justice (DOJ) this past Thursday over claims that she provided false information on loan documents.

Video footage posted to social media shows a crowd following Mamdani, with one of his aides getting into a shoving match before fleeing the scene.

A man wearing a baseball hat could be heard yelling at Mamdani, "Denounce Hezbollah! Denounce sharia law! Denounce it. You can’t denounce it. You can’t denounce it, you f--king rat!"

Mamdani accused Israel of waging "a genocidal war" in October 7 statement

The confrontation came just days after Mamdani was condemned over an official statement he released concerning the October 7, 2023 attack on Israel.

"Two years ago today, Hamas carried out a horrific war crime, killing more than 1,100 Israelis and kidnapping 250 more," the candidate wrote.

"I mourn these lives and pray for the safe return of every hostage still held and for every family whose lives were torn apart by these atrocities," he continued.

However, Mamdani then went on to accuse Israel's government of perpetrating "a genocidal war" against the Palestinian population of Gaza.

Israeli Foreign Ministry decries Mamdani's statement as "shameful"

As Breitbart pointed out, the Democratic mayoral nominee's remarks were met with a stern rebuke from Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which responded with a social media post of its own.

"Two years after Hamas launched its barbaric massacre against Israel and the Jewish people, Mamdani has chosen to act as a mouthpiece for Hamas propaganda — spreading Hamas’s fake genocide campaign," the Israeli Foreign Minister said of Mamdani.

"By repeating Hamas’s lies, he excuses terror and normalizes antisemitism. He stands with Jews only when they are dead," it insisted before declaring that his words were "shameful."
