Last week saw President Donald Trump's 20-point plan for peace in the Gaza Strip win acceptance from both Israel and Hamas.

That has since led to the return of Israeli hostages who were kidnapped two years ago, a move which stunned D.C. and brought Trump a standing ovation in Israel.

Trump predicts a "Golden Age of Israel" and a "Golden Age of the Middle East."

According to Breitbart, Trump was given the standing ovation from Israeli lawmakers while addressing their country's parliament on Monday.

Breitbart noted how Trump began his remarks by thanking the God of "Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob" for last week's peace agreement.

"After so many years of unceasing war and endless danger … the sun rises on a Holy Land that is finally at peace," he continued before predicting a "Golden Age of Israel" as well as a "Golden Age of the Middle East."

Some Israeli put on Trump masks

The website noted this past Thursday that Trump's peace plan had brought scenes of jubilant Gaza Strip residents as well as Israelis, some of whom had donned Trump masks.

"I want to thank President Trump for bringing this amazing victory," one Israeli man was quoted as saying. "That's the name for it. That's a victory. He deserves a Nobel Prize for this."

Breitbart also pointed to how a group which represents the families of Israeli hostages recommended that Trump be given the Nobel Peace Prize.

"President Trump’s determination to bring peace made possible what many said was impossible," a letter released by the organization read.

Egypt awards Trump its highest civilian honor

Meanwhile, the Jerusalem Post reported that Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi presented Trump on Monday with the Nile Medal, his country's highest civilian honor.

The newspaper observed that Trump traveled to Egypt to co-host the Sharm El- Sheikh summit, which includes some 20 countries.

Among those in attendance will be representatives from Saudi Arabia, which also put out a statement welcoming Trump's Gaza peace plan.

"The Kingdom appreciates the active role of U.S. President Donald Trump and the mediation efforts by the State of Qatar, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the Republic of Turkey to reach this agreement," it read.
