Former Trump campaign official suggests Barron should be put on TikTok's board
President Donald Trump signed an executive order late last month, which approved the transfer of TikTok's U.S. operations from the Chinese firm ByteDance to a group of American investors.
That move led one former Trump campaign official to confirm that he wants Barron Trump to have a role in running the company.
Former social media manager "hopeful" Trump will appoint Barron
According to Newsweek, that suggestion was put forward by Jake Advent, who served as the president's social media manager during last year's campaign.
"I’m hopeful President Trump will consider appointing his son Barron and maybe other young Americans to TikTok’s board to help ensure it remains an app young people want to keep using," Advent told the Daily Mail last week.
Trump's former social media manager Jack Advent proposed the role, arguing that the younger Trump's appointment could broaden TikTok's appeal among young users. https://t.co/dKKfxRQE0k

Newsweek recalled how Congress passed a bipartisan mandate last year which required ByteDance to separate itself from TikTok in the U.S. or face a ban on the platform.
Trump wrote in his executive order that "the proposed divestiture would allow the millions of Americans who enjoy TikTok every day to continue using it while also protecting national security."
President says TikTok users "owe me big"
The president also posted a video to TikTok touting his decision, saying, "To all of those young people of TikTok, I saved TikTok, so you owe me big."
"And now you're looking at me in the Oval Office, and someday one of you are going to be sitting right at this desk and you're going to be doing a great job," Trump added.
Meanwhile, Vice President J.D. Vance pointed out how TikTok's algorithm will now be controlled by U.S. investors instead of the Chinese-based ByteDance.
"This deal really does mean Americans can use TikTok but actually use it with more confidence than they had in the past because their data is secure and it won’t be used as a propaganda weapon like it has in the past," ABC News quoted him as saying.
Barron "very involved" in father's online strategy
For his part, Barron is regarded as being well versed in the world of social media, with multiple figures highlighting the advice he gave his father on the subject.
They include longtime Trump adviser Jason Miller, who told Politico that "Barron has been very involved in recommending a number of the podcasts that we should do."
"I got to tell you, hats off to the young man. Every single recommendation he’s had has turned out to be absolute ratings gold that’s broke the internet. He’s done a great job," Miller stressed.
