New CBS editor in chief makes her first firing
Bari Weiss, the new editor in chief of CBS, just made her first firing.
The New York Post reports that Weiss has decided to terminate CLaudia Milne, the head of CBS News' standards and practices unit.
The move is being seen by many as a major step in the right direction for CBS.

The details
According to the Post, some are referring to Milne's termination as Weiss's "first scalp."
The Post reports:
Claudia Milne, who ran the division responsible for the moral, ethical and legal implications of CBS programming, is the first senior executive to leave the network since Weiss arrived as editor in chief earlier this month. Although Milne’s job had been “slowly phased out,” a CBS source called her departure “significant.” “She was part of the woke mob at CBS News. It shows an editorial shift in how CBS will operate,” the person said, speculating that “this is Bari’s first scalp.”
This shift was indeed expected. There will be more on this in a moment.
Milne, according to Variety, addressed her departure last week.
The outlet reports her as telling her colleagues:
We live in complicated times. For our company, for our industry, and for our country. And it’s times like this that what we do matters most. I believe our role as journalists is to hold the powerful to account. We are here to question and challenge our political leaders on behalf of our audiences, Republican or Democrat, liberal or conservative…we must interrogate the social media companies that want to control our attention, the businesses that manage our healthcare and the institutions that shape our education system… and So. Much. More.
A big shift
Despite what Milne had to say in her farwell address, CBS is one of those mainstream media outlets that has received significant criticism for clearly one-sided news content - that would be the side that favors the political left.
Just the News reports:
Milne was reportedly on the team that banned writers in 2023 from using the term "transgender" when reporting on the Covenant shooting in Nashville, Tennessee, despite the shooter being transgender. She also reportedly blocked a reporter from interviewing Elon Musk in 2023, because the Tesla CEO wanted to do the interview live, the New York Post reported.
It, of course, is much harder to manipulate a live interview for one's purposes.
It was just announced that Weiss was chosen to take over at CBS earlier this month.
Liberals were reportedly not happy with the move, which probably tells you everything that you need to know.
