President Trump was forced to quickly board Air Force One after the Secret Service discovered a potential sniper's nest.

During a routine security sweep, authorities found a suspicious hunting stand with a direct line of sight to Trump's plane. Fox News broke the story.

The chilling find led to Trump boarding Air Force One using a smaller flight of stairs on Sunday, a White House official told Fox.

Air Force One emergency

The hunting stand was found Friday, a day before Trump's arrival at Palm Beach International Airport. He returned to Washington D.C. on Sunday.

The FBI is investigating the incident, but no arrests have been made yet, director Kash Patel said.

"Prior to the President’s return to West Palm Beach, USSS discovered what appeared to be an elevated hunting stand within sight line of the Air Force One landing zone," Patel told Fox News Digital. "No individuals were located at the scene. The FBI has since taken the investigatory lead, flying in resources to collect all evidence from the scene, and deploying our cell phone analytics capabilities."

“During advance security preparations prior to the Palm Beach arrival, which included the use of technology and comprehensive physical sweeps, our teams identified items of interest near Palm Beach International Airport,” Anthony Guglielmi, the Secret Service’s chief of communications, said in the statement.

“There was no impact to any movements and no individuals were present or involved at the location. While we are not able to provide details about the specific items or their intent, this incident underscores the importance of our layered security measures. The FBI is leading the investigation and we would refer any additional comment to them.”

Continued threats

The troubling discovery underscores continued threats to Trump's life more than a year after he survived two separate assassination attempts.

Trump narrowly survived the first attempt on July 13, 2024, when a gunman's bullet grazed his ear at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Many, including Trump, have credited Divine Providence with saving his life.

Yet another assassination attempt

Just two months after the first attempt, a second would-be assassin targeted Trump as he played golf at one of his courses in Florida.

Ryan Routh was convicted of the murder attempt last month and faces life in prison.

Trump alleged "sabotage" last month after an escalator suddenly stopped working underneath his feet at the United Nations.

The mechanical failure raised concerns about Trump's security, with some calling it an ideal setup for an assassination.
