Senate insider says some Democrats may be ready to break ranks to end the shutdown
A member of the U.S. Senate just revealed that some Democrats in the upper chamber are about ready to break ranks with the party to help Republicans to end the government shutdown.
Newsmax learned as much from U.S. Sen. John Hoeven (R-ND).
What's more is that we are already seeing some signs that would suggest that Hoeven is right.
Sen. John Fetterman breaks ranks: “For me, it’s hungry Americans over party. Paying our military over party. Paying Capitol Police and federal workers over party. I choose country over party.” A rare bipartisan move to end the shutdown. pic.twitter.com/d6qmcf5VHR

"They're starting to think..."
Hoeven spoke with Newsmax on Saturday.
He revealed:
I do think there are some practical Democrats, and I'm talking to them. They're starting to think, 'OK, we've got to do something now.' That means they have to vote for that clean CR [continuing resolution] so we get the government open.
Thus far, of course, Senate Democrats have blocked each and every Republican attempt to reopen the government. The most recent block - of the twelfth bill - took place just last week. The shutdown has been going on for nearly a month now.
Hoeven added, "This is Day 25 of the shutdown. It's way past time to get beyond this Schumer shutdown, whatever point they thought they were making."
Still, there is no obvious sign, at the time of this writing, that the shutdown is going to end. There are, however, some signs that some Democrat Senators are getting ready to move in that direction.
Fetterman breaks ranks
It will probably not come as a big surprise to anyone that U.S. Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) has been one of the Senate Democrats who is most willing to work with Republicans to end the shutdown.
Now, according to Breitbart News, Fetterman has gotten behind a bipartisan bill to reopen the government.
Per the outlet:
Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) and Sen. Dave McCormick (R-PA) appeared together in Washington, D.C., Thursday calling for an end to the government shutdown, emphasizing its growing impact on Pennsylvania families, workers, and federal employees.
Still, Republicans are going to need more help to end the shutdown than they can get from Fetterman alone.
Fetterman, though, is doing his best to turn some of his fellow Democrats. In one recent statement, he said:
Shut our government down and America loses. 2 MILLION Pennsylvanians depend on SNAP to feed their families. For me, it’s hungry Americans over party. Paying our military over party. Paying Capitol Police and federal workers over party. I choose country over party.
