Harris implies she may run for president in 2028

Former Vice President Kamala Harris just hinted at the possibility that she might run for the U.S. presidency again in 2028.

Breitbart News reports that Harris did so, over the weekend, while participating in an interview with the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).

None of this should come as a surprise, considering what Harris has been up to. One thing is for sure: it is music to the ears of Republicans.

"I'm not done"

These are the words that Harris used during the interview on "Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg."

"I am not done. I have lived my entire career as a life of service, and it’s in my bones," she said.

Breitbart reports:

In keeping with the possibility of another try at the presidency, Harris dismissed polls that put her as an also-ran behind California Gov. Gavin Newsom as the Democratic nominee in the next presidential election. “If I listened to polls, I would have not run for my first office, or my second office — and I certainly wouldn’t be sitting here,” she told the network.

One could also say that, if Harris had listened to the polls and not run in 2024, the Democrats almost certainly would have had a better chance at winning the 2024 election.

Harris, though, did not address this point. Instead, she remains optimistic about her political future, and there is little doubt that Republicans will cheer her on.

More 2028 news

President Donald Trump also spoke about 2028 over the weekend. He responded to the idea of trying to get in a third term.

The New York Post reports:

President Trump said Monday that he won’t run as Vice President JD Vance’s running mate to circumvent the Constitution’s two-term limit on the presidency, but said he is still interested in running again — musing about a potential 2028 face-off against New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

The Post notes, "Trump, 79, made the remarks when a reporter asked about his former chief strategist Steve Bannon’s claim that a secret plan might negate the 22nd Amendment’s term limit."

Indeed, the Daily Mail recently published a report citing Bannon as claiming that "there's a plan" in place to allow Trump to seek a third term. Bannon said:

At the appropriate time we'll lay out what the plan is, but there's a plan and President Trump will be the president in '28. There's many different alternatives. At the appropriate time, we'll lay out what the plan is, but there's a plan.

Trump, apparently, is not against the idea.
