Due to his alleged involvement in the world of the deceased child sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, despite repeatedly denying those claims, Prince Andrew has found himself formally without his royal titles this week.

According to the New York Post, the former Prince Andrew will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor after King Charles, reportedly with the backing of the bulk of the Royal Family, including Kate Middleton, stripped him of his titles. 

It wasn't long after he was formally stripped of his titles that details emerged regarding how it all went down behind the scenes.

News that Middleton was instrumental in the decision came after sources close to the Royal Family said they “sensed a female touch" in the decision.

What's going on?

Speculation is now running rampant that both Queen Camilla and Princess Kate had a hand in deciding on formally stripping the former prince of his prestigious royal title.

Buckingham Palace released a statement on the situation.

"His Majesty has today initiated a formal process to remove the Style, Titles and Honours of Prince Andrew,” the letter from Buckingham Palace read. "Prince Andrew will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. His lease on Royal Lodge has, to date, provided him with legal protection to continue in residence."

The palace added, "Formal notice has now been served to surrender the lease and he will move to alternative private accommodation. These censures are deemed necessary, even though he continues to deny the allegations against him."

“Their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies have been, and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse."
