The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) is now getting involved in a dispute regarding the 2020 presidential election. 

This is according to a new report from The Guardian.

This all comes as President Donald Trump has called for heightened scrutiny of the 2020 election, both in the form of investigations and prosecutions. It also comes as Trump and his allies are trying to make moves to sure up federal elections.

DOJ requests election records

The Guardian reports that the DOJ is now requesting that election official in Fulton County, Georgia, hand over records related to the 2020 presidential eleciton.

Per the outlet:

The justice department on Thursday asked election officials in Fulton county, Georgia, to turn over records related to the 2020 election, a request that underscores how the administration is trying to revive one of the president’s biggest falsehoods about the election he lost five years ago.

The Guardian is a left-wing media outlet, so it goes on to try to claim that, essentially, there is nothing to see here.

As Just the News points out, however, these officials have refused to turn over official records to the federal government.

The outlet writes:

The request to Fulton County, home to the city of Atlanta, was sent last week by Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet K. Dhillon, whose division oversees election laws, after the State Elections Board had tried unsuccessfully for months to get certain historical election records from the county.

What are they hiding?

The Washington Examiner reports on how President Trump is reviving claims that he made about the integrity of the 2020 presidential election.

The outlet quotes Trump as recently writing:

What’s worse, the NBA Players cheating at cards, and probably much else, or the Democrats cheating on Elections. The 2020 Presidential Election, being Rigged and Stolen, is a far bigger SCANDAL. Look what happened to our Country when a Crooked Moron became our ‘President!’ We now know everything. I hope the DOJ pursues this with as much ‘gusto’ as befitting the biggest SCANDAL in American history.

Trump went on to claim that the problem has not been fixed and that, therefore, we ought to expect more of the same in the future.

"GET SMART … BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE!!!" he wrote.

Trump also recently posted this:
