House GOP wants to pass 'MAMDANI Act'
Some Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives are looking to pass what they are referring to as the "MAMDANI" Act.
This, according to the New York Post, would be a way to combat Mamdani's policies, now that he has been elected the next mayor of New York City.
Not all congressional Republicans, however, are on board with the idea.
Since New Yorkers voted for COMMUNISM, the federal government should NOT bail them out.

The MAMDANI Act
The effort is being spearheaded by U.S. Rep. Buddy Carter (R-GA). This is his response to Mamdani's recent election.
On social media, Carter wrote, "Since New Yorkers voted for COMMUNISM, the federal government should NOT bail them out. Don't come crying to @realDonaldTrump when this 'experiment' FAILS."
Fox News provides some details about the act.
Per the outlet:
Forthcoming legislation led by Rep. Buddy Carter, R-Ga., is called the Moving American Money Distant from Anti-National Interests Act, or the "MAMDANI Act" for short. The two-page bill text stated that "notwithstanding any other provision of law, during any period in which Zohran Mamdani is mayor of New York, New York" that "any unobligated Federal funds available" for the city "are hereby rescinded" and that "no Federal funds may be obligated or expended for any purpose to New York, New York."
Carter, clearly, is trying to get the U.S. taxpayer off the hook for what he believes will be an incoming disaster for New York City. Other Republicans, however, are questioning whether or not this is the correct approach to the situation.
A "ludicrous" bill
Fox News has separately reported on how some House Republicans are pushing back against Carter's bill.
Leading the opposition is U.S. Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R-NY).
Malliotakis is described as "New York City's lone Republican member of Congress."
The outlet quotes Milliotakis as saying:
These attempts by those within my party to score cheap political points by going after New York City are not going to be met lightly. We're going to fight back. I'm the only Republican representing our city in Washington. My constituents did not vote for Zohran Mamdani, and then you have people in Washington wanting to punish the whole city for the stupid decisions of a few.
It does not appear, at the time of this writing, that the bill will be able to get anywhere in Congress.
