VP Vance slams Democrats for not ending shutdown sooner with 'exact' deal that ended it

Vice President J.D. Vance confirmed this week what we all knew about Democrats regarding the record-long government shutdown, and it remains just as sickening a thought.

According to Fox News, the vice president told Sean Hannity during a sit-down interview this week that the House deal that ultimately ended the shutdown was the "exact" deal that was offered to Democrats some 45 days ago.

That means that the untold number of government workers, including military troops, who were not paid or not paid on time could have avoided a lot of financial heartache if the Democrats were serious and not just showing their extreme levels of Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS).

Vance slammed Democrats who held out on the deal that would eventually resolve the issue, confirming it was nothing more than a political game to Democrats.

What did he say?

The vice president, in his first interview since the reopening of the government, held nothing back as he excoriated Democrats for making the shutdown last as long as it did.

"Here’s what the Democrats actually accomplished. They caused a lot of stress for our troops. They made our air traffic controllers not get paid. They caused a lot of flight cancellations. They had a lot of people thinking they weren’t going to get their food benefits. All for literally nothing," he told Hannity.

He went on to emphasize that Democrats are so ridden with TDS that they don't care what they have to do to go after Trump, even if it means hurting millions of working-class families in the process.

"They don't care if the troops don't get paid. They don't care if you cause billions of dollars of lost productivity. They don't care if your shut down the airline industry… They don't care if they have to burn the entire country down in order to get Trump," Vance said.

Making matters even worse is when Vance pointed out that the same deal that ended the shutdown was presented to the left 45 days earlier, during which time they rejected it.

"We could have struck this exact deal 45 days ago," Vance added. "In fact, we met with Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer and said we will pass this exact deal. They said no."

Credit where credit's due

Vance also offered some credit to the small group of Democrats who were on board with striking a deal much earlier on.

"I do give a lot of credit for the moderate Democrats in the Senate who were with us from the very beginning," Vance said.

He added, "Privately, the Democrats would recognize the position of their far left was crazy. But they all feel a little bit like they're being held hostage by their far left."

There's no debating it. Democrats own that record shutdown, and it'll be a nasty mark on the party for decades to come.
