Hunter Biden, the embattled son of former President Joe Biden, is calling upon Democrats to "turn the temperature up" on certain political issues. 

Biden, according to Fox News, did so during a recent appearance on the "Wide Awake Podcast" with host Joshua Rubin.

It is hard to believe that the younger Biden has much sway over anything that happens in politics, but he has shown time and again that this is not enough to stop him from talking a big game.

"Turn the temperature up"

Biden specifically called upon Democrats to "turn the temperature up" when they are confronted about the extremist views that many in their party harbor.

Fox reports, ""Wide Awake Podcast" host Joshua Rubin asked Biden whether both sides needed to turn the temperature down with regard to extremism, and said it was only "escalating." Biden said that it wasn't going to happen."

Indeed, Biden replied:

I’m going to get myself in trouble for saying this. No, we need to turn the temperature up. We need to turn the temperature up, and we need people to see it for what it is. And what I mean by that is this: I do not believe that we are going to get to the bottom until we get to the bottom. And I want to get to the bottom faster rather than through this slow kind of process of just being picked apart — a death by a thousand cuts here.

Biden felt the need to clarify that he "100%” did not mean violence." Rather, he said, "what I mean by turning the temperature up is we need to speak truth to power."

He added:

We need more people in my party, in the Democratic Party, more people in elected positions or in positions of power, or the talking heads that get paid to go on MSNBC [now MS NOW], they need to start talking about this as it is, not as a conjecture about whether or not the Supreme Court [sic] and this debate.

Hunter Biden, during the interview, also took some shots at President Donald Trump.

Sky News reports, "In an interview with host Joshua Rubin on the ‘Wide Awake’ podcast, Hunter described President Trump’s contentious attacks on his father. Hunter claimed Trump was 'obsessed' with Joe Biden because he “beat him by 7.5 million votes” in 2020."

He also took a shot at some of his fellow Democrats, including CNN's Jake Tapper.

Biden said:

You have people like Jake Tapper who are having hardball discussions with Donald Trump over text. Like, what the f--- are you talking about, man? That’s not journalism. That’s a complete and utter abdication of responsibility as a journalist.

All-in-all, it was about what one would expect from Hunter Biden.
