President Donald Trump's granddaughter, Kai Trump, sparked plenty of hate from the family's critics when she made it into the ranks of the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA), with many claiming that she coasted in on her grandfather's name.

However, according to the Daily Caller, Kai Trump is no slacker. During her LPGA Tour debut, the 18-year-old golf pro sank a game-changing birdie on a par three hole, proving that she has more than what it takes to play with the big dogs. 

Plenty of photographers captured the moment, which showed Kai Trump was all smiles after her big shot that undoubtedly made her grandfather, a big fan of the sport and excellent player himself, beyond proud.

Kai Trump has a massive and growing fanbase not just because of her name, but because of the heat she brings on the course.

What happened?

The president's granddaughter just announced her membership in the LPGA in late October, and drew plenty of hate for it from critics of the Trump family.

At the time, she announced her big news to her staggering 2.5 million Instagram followers.

"I am thrilled to announce that I’ll be making my LPGA tour debut in November, at the ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge. The ANNIKA is at the Pelican Golf Club,” she wrote at the time.

She added, "It has been a dream of mine to compete at a professional level, and I’d like to thank the Pelican Golf Club for the invitation."

But during her debut, she showed them that she is nothing less than the real deal by playing how she did. And that's not easy for anyone of any skill level in a professional debut.

Social media reaction

Kai Trump's fans celebrated her big day on social media, congratulating her on proving what they knew all along.

"Unhinged people who hate her will keep hating no matter what she does. They are consumed with jealousy because Kai is talented, beautiful, wealthy, and a Trump. She’s got everything," one X user wrote.

Another X user wrote, "Of course, she can play!? She was taught by the best!"

It looks as though Kai Trump could very well be a household name in the sport, and she has many decades ahead of her to make it happen.
