A Republican member of Congress is facing criticism over an alleged sex scandal. 

The congressman, according to the Daily Mail, is U.S. Rep. Cory Mills (R-FL).

One of the problems for Mills, here, is that this is not even the only controversy that he is dealing with. For example:

The latest allegations:

According to the Daily Mail, the incident dates back to the 2021 withdrawal of U.S. forces from Afghanistan.

Per the outlet:

Amid the chaotic withdrawal of US forces in 2021, Florida Republican Representative Cory Mills and a group of unknown individuals traveled to Afghanistan as the Taliban were overtaking the country to extract Americans who were stranded. The group wanted to rescue an American mother and her children who had been left inside Afghanistan after Joe Biden ordered a US military withdrawal.

However, the claim is that something else happened during that trip.

The Daily Mail continues:

While en route to the war-torn country for the 'sensitive' mission, Mills's group stopped in Tbilisi, Georgia. However, one night while staying in the capital, Mills was caught in a hotel hallway with sex workers, an insider told NOTUS. After allegedly discovering Mills with the sex workers, the rest of his group was reportedly furious.

Accordingly, the outlet reports that "they decided to abandon him midway, leaving Mills to travel to Afghanistan by himself."

This past week, U.S. Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) led an effort to censure Mills.

According to Breitbart News, Mace said:

A Member of Congress accused of assaulting women, profiting off federal contracts from his seat, and inflating or falsifying his service record has no business anywhere near national-security committees. This isn’t about partisan politics, it’s about protecting the integrity of this institution and the safety of women.

Breitbart reports, "Both her letter to Johnson and her resolution referenced the same allegations against Mills, citing a February Washington, DC, Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) report stating that his girlfriend accused him of grabbing, shoving, and pushing her out of the door of his residence."

A vote was held in the House of Representatives, but it was unsuccessful. Instead, Mills had been recommended for an ethics investigation.

Mills, at the time of this writing, has not commented on the sex scandal allegations.
