Chairman James Comer skeptical if public will believe final Epstein report

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) has taken the lead on the Jeffrey Epstein file investigation, digging into all facets of the investigation and how he ultimately died in prison.

However, according to the Daily Mail, Comer doesn't seem as though he's completely satisfied with the upcoming outcome, questioning whether people will actually believe any final reports.

The renewed investigation, so far, has resulted in subpoenas, 65,000 pages of Epstein-related documents, and "Epstein's banking and estate information, and depositions involving some of the pedophile's confidants."

The investigation received a massive public relations boost earlier this month when Congress passed a bill that forced the DOJ to release additional files that will undoubtedly assist in Comer's investigation.

What's the problem?

Comer's issue with how the case is winding up is that he fears the general public will overwhelmingly not believe parts, or all of the final conclusive report, not unlike the Warren Report.

"I fear the report will be like the Warren Report," the chairman told Politico. "Nobody will ever believe it."

The renewed interest in the Epstein files, especially driven by Democrats who have worked overtime to force the release of additional files, has generated a new round of conspiracy theories that dwarf the first round after Epstein died in jail.

"Democrats are shamefully trying to distort the investigation by lying about witness testimony, selectively leaking documents, and doctoring emails," Comer told the Daily Mail. "This undermines the transparency and accountability we are trying to deliver for Americans and the survivors."

The Kentucky Republican added, "There's so many conspiracy theories."

Comer has also said he hopes other lawmakers eventually meet with some of Epstein's victims, which could establish a list of names that the public has demanded for years.

"If there is no Epstein list, and the American people expect us to compose an Epstein list, if we don't get any names from the victims, it's going to be hard to do," Comer said.

Clinton questions

The latest subpoenas were issued to Bill and Hillary Clinton, and the question remains whether or not they'll obey them.

Only time will tell if they do, and if so, what information they could end up revealing.
