Salem radio taps Jennings and Marlow for Kirk's former slot

In a move that’s shaking up conservative airwaves, Salem Radio Network has named Scott Jennings and Alex Marlow as the new voices for its coveted midday slot, once held by the late Charlie Kirk.

Following Kirk’s tragic assassination on September 10, Salem has decided to fill the influential noon to 3 p.m. ET block—previously a platform for icons like Rush Limbaugh—with two prominent conservative figures starting January 5.

This isn’t just a changing of the guard; it’s a pivotal moment for a movement grappling with internal divisions and whispers of conspiracy surrounding Kirk’s untimely death.

Passing the Torch in Conservative Radio

Charlie Kirk, a unifying force on the right, left a void that few could fill after his passing, as he was seen as uniquely adept at bridging the varied factions within conservatism.

Now, Alex Marlow, Breitbart’s editor-in-chief and a familiar face in MAGA circles, will helm the noon to 1 p.m. hour, bringing his sharp podcasting chops to the radio dial.

Scott Jennings, known for his fiery defenses of President Trump on CNN, will take the 1 to 3 p.m. stretch, building on his current gig in Salem’s lineup.

New Hosts Honor Kirk’s Legacy

Both Marlow and Jennings have expressed deep respect for Kirk and the team that kept his show alive after the tragedy.

As Jennings put it, “Thank you for your stewardship of Charlie's radio legacy ... These are some of the most important hours in talk radio.” Well, Scott, if anyone can keep the fire burning, it’s a duo ready to tackle the progressive agenda head-on without bowing to the woke crowd.

Marlow echoed the sentiment, saying, “It was a rare pleasure to be a weekly guest on my friend Charlie Kirk's show ... I can't wait to get started.” Let’s hope that enthusiasm translates into the kind of hard-hitting commentary that cuts through the cultural noise.

Turning Point Team Stays Strong

Meanwhile, “The Charlie Kirk Show” isn’t disappearing—it’s evolving into a podcast on the Salem Podcast Network, co-hosted by Andrew Kolvet and Blake Neff of Turning Point.

Kolvet praised Salem’s support, noting the network has been gracious during this transition and affirming that Marlow and Jennings were the right picks for the radio slot.

The Turning Point team plans to keep producing content in other formats, though they’ve agreed to shift the radio distribution to the new hosts.

Big Audience, Bigger Challenges Ahead

Salem projects that over 300 stations will carry the new shows, reaching more than 1.2 million weekly radio listeners, plus over a million more via podcast platforms.

Yet, Jennings and Marlow step into this role at a tense time, with the MAGA movement fractured and conspiracy theories about Kirk’s assassination adding fuel to an already volatile fire.

While both hosts bring substantial followings, they face the daunting task of matching Kirk’s knack for uniting the right—let’s see if they can steer clear of the divisive traps set by today’s hyper-polarized climate.
