Erika Kirk pledges strong support for JD Vance in 2028 at TPUSA AmericaFest
In a powerful moment at the Phoenix Convention Center, Erika Kirk, widow of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, boldly endorsed Vice President JD Vance for a future presidential run during her keynote at AmericaFest on Thursday night, as the New York Post reports.
Before a diverse crowd from all 50 states, 25 countries, and Puerto Rico, Erika also revealed ambitious plans for TPUSA’s return to college campuses while recommitting to conservative activism for the 2026 midterms.
The night wasn’t without challenges, as Erika encountered a technical glitch when her iPad failed to show her prepared speech, pushing her to speak off the cuff.
Erika Kirk Faces Obstacles with Resolve
She addressed the issue with a lighthearted touch, recognizing the irony of technology faltering at such a crucial time.
Her strength was evident as she shared touching memories of Charlie, tragically assassinated on September 10 at Utah Valley University.
Erika’s determination to uphold Charlie’s mission stood out, especially as she highlighted his belief in debate and honest dialogue over divisive narratives often pushed by progressive causes.
Tackling Rumors with Witty Insight
During her talk, Erika cleverly poked fun at conspiracy theories about Charlie’s death, noting that Egypt wasn’t among the represented countries at AmericaFest -- a subtle jab at claims floated by Candace Owens.
She also disclosed a private meeting with Owens in Nashville earlier that week to address criticisms of TPUSA, opting for discussion over a public clash.
This choice reflects a commitment to constructive dialogue, a stance worth applauding even if one disagrees with Owens’ perspectives.
Charting TPUSA’s Bold New Path
As her iPad unexpectedly powered on after the Egypt quip, Erika outlined key plans for TPUSA, including a campus comeback and the “Pick up the Mic” initiative for debate events in 2026.
“Charlie’s love for debate will always be the DNA of Turning Point USA, because we believe in truth, and we believe in civil discourse, and we believe that truth can withstand scrutiny,” she affirmed at AmericaFest.
Her statement strikes at the heart of a culture too often swayed by emotion over reason, a reminder of conservative values rooted in open discussion.
Carrying Forward a Lasting Legacy
Erika also spoke of finishing Charlie’s “The American Comeback Tour” after his passing, showcasing her unwavering dedication to his vision.
Her support for JD Vance was clear as she recalled Charlie’s admiration for him, declaring at AmericaFest, “We are going to get my husband’s friend JD Vance elected for 48 in the most resounding way possible.”
Looking to the 2026 midterms, Erika emphasized building a strong Congress, a practical counter to lofty progressive promises that often lack substance, proving that her leadership at AmericaFest is a force for conservative momentum.
