Rapper Luci4, born James Dear, died Sunday, February 22, at a friend's Los Angeles home. He was 23 years old.

His manager, Kayla G, confirmed the news in a statement to followers:

"I am devastated to inform you that today James, Luci4, axxturel has passed away. He was truly a leader. A king. And musician. And a genius. There's nobody like him and there will never be. We all loved him dearly. Rest easy."

The L.A. County Medical Examiner noted that Luci4 passed at a private residence and deferred the cause of death. The Los Angeles Fire Department arrived at the home at 11:40 AM after receiving a medical call, the Daily Mail reported. Police established a crime scene upon arrival, and an investigation is now underway.
