DANIEL VAUGHAN: Hamas Murdering Babies Ends Any Peace Talks

Tragedy has defined most of the war in Gaza, with few exceptions. But there's always been hope for good to come out of it. Unfortunately, the last bastion of hope died in the hands of Hamas this week. The world learned Hamas murdered Kfir and Ariel Bibas, ages 2 and 5 years old.

Kfir Bibas had become the face of the hostages and the hope for Israel. He was kidnapped when he was nine months old and never saw a birthday with family or freedom. Israelis and the world hoped he'd been saved. But Hamas crushed those hopes, admitting he was dead.

Hamas kidnapped and murdered a baby.

There are no mincing words about this event or what Hamas is as a group. It's a bloodthirsty terrorist cult that only wants dead Jews. Hamas cannot be reasoned or negotiated with. No country or civilization can live next to a group that butchers children and rapes women for sport.

And what is disgusting are the so-called "pro-Palestininas," who cheer the murder of a baby. It's even more revolting for Westerners, who should know better, to cheer on the murder of Jews.

The liberal press wants to lecture the world on fascism and Nazism, but they can't be moved to recognize a group murdering Jews in broad daylight, with adherents in America.

Seth Mandel nailed it in Commentary:

Kfir's face became a symbol of the conflict because it represented a line that had been crossed and cannot be uncrossed. Members of Congress giddily attended tentifada demonstrations that were no longer simply "pro-Palestine" or "anticolonial"; they were about defending those who stole Kfir from his home and dragged him to Gaza where, according to Hamas, he died. And it is impossible for the rest of us to pretend that we didn't see a chunk of society, whether in person or online, rush to cross that line and cheer the people who kidnapped a baby.

In truth, for those honest enough to view it, this line was crossed long ago. There were videos and stories of Hamas murdering children, beheading babies, and raping women as it charged into Israel on October 7.

The stories, evidence, and grotesque videos were everywhere. Hamas filmed its debauchery because it was proud of it. To ignore it is to ignore what Hamas proudly presented to the world.

But too many people did just that. And now here we are with another reminder of everything that happened on October 7 and what Hamas is.

There is no place for Hamas in deciding the future of the Gaza conflict. Hamas has no say in international policy, Palestinian plans, or any topic of conversation. Hamas must be eradicated from the ground up - no member can live.

A group that so thoroughly destroys personal conscience to glory in murdering babies cannot remain. This is a civilizational question: are you willing to allow groups like Hamas to exist and let them live next door?

The answer should be a resounding "NO!"

Unfortunately, far too many people in the West answer the opposite. We've seen them on college campuses, disrupting people's lives, and in the halls of Congress.

Mandel observed in his piece, "As the "pro-Palestinian" mobs filled the streets of every major city to celebrate Hamas's slaughter, Jews around the world looked at them dumbfounded; they kidnapped a baby. How much does one have to hate Jews to side with the monsters who kidnap babies? A lot, is the answer—an unpleasant realization Jews came to over the past 16 months."

And that's where we really are on this issue. Those who look at the death of the Bibas children and bypass it, as they've done countless other atrocities, cannot be reasoned with either. The simple animus behind all of the oldest hatred of all: antisemitism.

Hamas is the face of antisemitism. They don't want peace, a state, or anything on the negotiation table. The only thing Hamas wants is Jewish blood. It's built into the organization's mission statement and has been carried out through its actions for decades.

America and the world cannot negotiate with Hamas on any level. I understand the need to get the remaining hostages out, but Hamas cannot be allowed to roam freely on the earth. The murdered Bibas children, along with everyone else in this conflict, demand justice for the actions of Hamas.

Hamas crushed all remaining hope of some good in these hostage releases. There's no hope to be had. The situation is as bad as it looks; Hamas is as evil as we know, and a response must be leveled against Hamas.

The two-state solution realistically died in 2000 with Bill Clinton's attempts at peace. Hamas killing the Bibas children slams shut the door of any notion we're returning to a "two-state" discussion. The only possible solution is one without Hamas in the picture. If that means driving home Trump's plan to move the Palestinians out, then it's time to do it.

Never forget. And never allow Hamas to murder more Bibas children.

Am Yisrael Chai.
