DANIEL VAUGHAN: Joe Biden Throws Open The Prison Doors For Christmas
Joe Biden's Christmas present to the country as he prepares to leave is to effectively throw open the prison doors and strike down justice wherever it stands. From issuing inexcusable pardons to vetoing new judges for the court system, Biden has taken a staunch stand against the rule of law and the constitutional order.
Outside the pardons he's issued for his son and mega-embezzlers like the "kids-for-cash" judge, he's pivoted to the outright monsters of society. He issued clemency for 37 of the 40 prisoners on federal death row. Instead of the death penalty, they get life without parole.
This list included multiple child killers and some drug dealers who murdered as many as 12 people in their time on the streets. It's some of the very worst sadists, rapists, and murders in the country, and Biden removed the death penalty from them all.
Biden unilaterally declared, "guided by my conscience and my experience as a public defender, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Vice President, and now President, I am more convinced than ever that we must stop the use of the death penalty at the federal level. In good conscience, I cannot stand back and let a new administration resume executions that I halted."
In short, Biden knew Trump would lift the ban on the death penalty, sending this group to the end of the line. The clemency pardons were all about stopping that. Interestingly, the three he did not grant clemency to were all well-known murderers.
The New York Post notes, "The three men on federal death row did not get a commutation were Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, who along with his brother killed three people in 2013; Robert Bowers, who killed 11 at a Pittsburgh synagogue in 2018, and Dylann Roof, who killed nine black Charleston churchgoers in 2015."
All the flowery language ends with them, apparently. Naturally, the victim's families in these cases were all stunned beyond belief. Biden spat in their faces during Christmas. Listening to the victim's families break down about this in interviews and looking at the obvious evil Biden couldn't grant clemency, too, makes all his reasoning ring hollow.
That's not all, though. Biden vetoed a bipartisan bill that would have increased the number of federal judges by 66. The legislation and number of judges were requested by the U.S. Court system itself, and Congress took it up. It passed the Senate with unanimous consent and the House with a closer vote of 236-173.
Why the veto? Biden claims there are questions. There aren't. When the Senate passed the bill, Harris was gaining on Trump and looked like she had a good shot at winning the race. Democrats were happy to add new judges with a Democratic in the White House. After the election, that mood shifted.
Democrats don't want Trump or Republicans appointing new judges. In truth, this complaint is silly because the legislation "spread the establishment of the new trial court judgeships over more than a decade to give three presidential administrations and six Congresses the chance to appoint the new judges."
Trump would have gotten the first round of appointments, for certain. But no one has any idea of what would happen after that. In truth, Democrats looked at Trump winning the popular vote and sweeping the battleground state, and put a halt to new judgeships, even when under different circumstances, they unanimously supported the measure.
Beyond all of this is the topic of preemptive pardons. With all the early pardons going out, it seems like a certainty that Biden will issue pardons for bureaucrats in Washington D.C., who spent their time going after Trump, Republicans, and anyone else during Biden's tenure.
If you've been watching Biden throw the doors open for all the other murderers and rapists in the system, along with his family, it's not even questionable that he's considering issues pardons in a manner that's beyond the pale of anything previous in United States history.
For all the talk about Donald Trump being an existential threat to democracy, it is Joe Biden who is ripping apart the rule of law in this country. He's undermining the death penalty, telling victim's families they matter less than the radical progressive activists in his caucus, and protecting anyone in his orbit.
In the end, Joe Biden was always out for himself, and he's clearing the way for anyone who helped him in the process. None of this even touches on how the Biden White House hid Biden's medical condition from the public for years.
Joe Biden leaves the White House as one of the worst in the country's history, and he's tearing everything down in the process. Trump's nickname of the Biden Crime Family doesn't even come close to describing this president. The only blessing we have to be thankful for from that is that there's less than a month to go of this corrupt garbage.
After that, we can send Joe Biden and his family to the dust heap of history.
