Lindsay Graham appears vulnerable in state primary

A Lynch for Senate study commissioned with Pulse Opinion Research indicated that Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) who is running for reelection, appears to be at a disadvantage in the Republican primary in his own state.

According to the press release, 57% of Republican primary voters in Graham's state "would not vote for Lindsey Graham if the election were held today," which is terrible news for the candidate, according to Breitbart News.

The poll outlined the fact that likely voters in South Carolina are “dissatisfied with Lindsey Graham and are just as likely to vote for a more conservative, America First candidate.”

Going head to head

Graham was still unable to secure a majority vote when pitted against Mark Lynch, a businessman who declared his candidacy for Graham's seat earlier this year; 43% of voters indicated they would back Graham, while 29% backed Lynch.

But 23% are still undecided, which is more than enough to change the outcome of the election.

On top of that, 37% of probable GOP primary voters in the state said they would support Graham based on his record, while 28% were still undecided.

The Lynch pin

Jeff Lynch, owner and president of Lynch Appliance Center, has some good news: 60% of South Carolina primary voters think a prosperous businessman would be a better political leader than a lifelong politician.

Twenty percent think a politician by trade would be better, and twenty percent are still undecided.

A total of 1,062 registered voters in South Carolina were polled between May 15th and the 21st, 2025.

From the Candidate

According to Lynch's statement, President Trump needs trustworthy politicians around him in order to implement his MAGA agenda for the American people.

“At a time when the career politicians in D.C. are digging in their heels, and despite the fact that Trump needs all the allies he can get in the U.S. Senate and U.S. House,” he said, highlighting a few key issues with the incumbent.

“Lindsey Graham voted against codifying Trump’s and Elon’s DOGE reforms. He’s working behind the scenes to scuttle Trump’s nominees. He just recently voted to send more cash to Ukraine with USAID, and Lindsey even pushed budget legislation Trump publicly opposes,” he added.

Graham, a senator for more than 20 years, has publicly acknowledged Trump's endorsement of him in March and has since claimed to be an America First supporter.

From Graham's camp

The campaign of Senator Graham responded to the poll and Lynch's remarks by bringing attention to Trump's endorsement of Graham, which the president made earlier this year in the lead-up to the 2020 election.

“Mark Lynch’s poll is fake news,” a Graham campaign spokesperson told Breitbart News. “In response to ‘Lynch said in a statement that now is the time President Donald Trump needs politicians around him he can trust to enact his MAGA agenda for the American people.’ We agree. That’s exactly why President Trump has given Senator Graham his ‘Complete and Total Endorsement.'”
