U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas has been under attack by the radical left for some time now, facing accusations of ethical violations.

According to Fox News, Thomas received a mighty boost of defense this week after 112 of his former clerks signed a letter vouching for their former boss, writing that his "integrity is unimpeachable" and "his independence is unshakable."

The army of former clerks heaped praise on Thomas, noting his integrity and agreeing that the attacks waged against him are really about the left's unsatisfaction with the high court.

Thomas has been the target of Democrats for some time now, with a large focus on one of his wealthy friends.

The clerks speak

Thomas' former clerks were direct in their assertion that Thomas is not the person that the left and their media allies make him out to be.

"As his law clerks, we offer this response. Different paths led us to our year with Justice Thomas, and we have followed different paths since. But along the way, we all saw with our own eyes the same thing: His integrity is unimpeachable," the letter read.

It added, "And his independence is unshakable, deeply rooted seven decades ago as that young child who walked through the door of his grandparents’ house for a life forever changed."

Fox News added:

The 112 signatories on the letter include current solicitors general, general counsels, partners at litigation firms and law professors. Three circuit court judges also signed the letter: David Stras on the 8th Circuit, Jim Ho of the 5th Circuit, and Allison Rushing, 4th Circuit.

The clerks took a deep dive into Thomas' background and his pathway to eventually sitting on the nation's highest court.

"He went to law school. He became a father. He worked for legal aid. He saw forced busing and violence and insolence in South Boston. He devoted himself to doing better for his son," the clerks wrote.

Reactions

Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) tweeted his feelings on the Democrats' attempt to smear Thomas and push him out of the high court, calling it a "high-tech lynching."

"The Democratic Party is responsible for this high-tech lynching, which is nothing short of shameful," Sen. Lee wrote.

Only time will tell if the letter helps knock a few Democrats off Thomas' back.
