ABC's Martha Raddatz blames border crisis on Trump, DeSantis

The mainstream media's gaslighting about the southern border crisis is reaching new levels of shameless absurdity as the Biden administration scrambles to respond to an unprecedented surge.

During an interview with Texas governor Greg Abbott (R), ABC's Martha Raddatz made the preposterous claim that Republicans like Abbott, former President Trump and Ron DeSantis (Fl.) are to blame for the crisis, not Biden.

ABC covers for Biden

The border crisis can't be Biden's fault because he has never actually said the border is "open," Raddatz said. Republicans who have used the term "open borders" to criticize Biden's policies are the ones sending the wrong message to immigrants, she claimed.

"You talk about the border wall, you talk about open borders, I don't think I’ve ever heard President Biden say, we have an open border, come on over," she told Abbott.

"But people I have heard say it are you, are former president Trump, Ron DeSantis, that message reverberates in Mexico and beyond. So they do get the message that it's an open border and smugglers use all those kind of statements."

Obviously, Democrats have never used "open borders" to describe their own agenda because they know open borders is unpopular. Instead, they're forced to lie, as Biden and his staff have done repeatedly by claiming the border is "secure."

Open borders propaganda

Either Raddatz is lying, or she's not very inquisitive. The results speak for themselves: over 2 million immigrants crossed the border in 2022, a record. The imminent end of Title 42, the last remaining Trump-era border policy, is expected to bring an unprecedented 18,000 immigrants to the border every day.

Still, Raddatz tried to blame Trump despite being told by immigrants that President Biden's agenda was a factor in their decision to cross the border.

One immigrant said that he "basically" decided to cross the border because Joe Biden was elected, and that he "definitely" would have stayed home if Trump were still in office.

Media cover up

But Raddatz claimed in her report that "closing the border is not working" because the immigrants "keep coming" for reasons that are apparently a complete mystery.

Continuing to echo Biden's talking points, Raddatz grilled Abbott on the "political ploy" of drawing attention to the crisis by sending illegal immigrants to liberal "sanctuary" cities, which is somehow, according to the media, more of an outrage than Biden's refusal to enforce immigration laws in the first place.

"It was known from the time that Joe Biden got elected that Joe Biden supported open borders," Abbott said, noting that border communities are having "thousands" of immigrants "dumped" in their towns by the federal government.

While doing everything she could to exonerate Biden, who has yet to visit the border over the past two years, Raddatz asked Abbott, "What can you do better?"

" A free people [claim] their rights, as derived from the laws of nature."
