Actor James Woods demands Gov. Gavin Newsom resign

As riots engulf the Los Angeles area and other parts of California, Gov. Gavin Newsom is having a tough time, and some prominent voices are already calling for his resignation.

According to Breitbart, conservative-leaning actor James Woods made it clear in a message this week to Newsom that he believes the governor should resign in the wake of the destructive and violent anti-Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) riots.

While the liberal media and Democrats in Congress continue to downplay the situation, with some even labeling the destructive riots as "peaceful," reasonable Americans can see that it's completely out of control.

And Gov. Newsom is seemingly continuing to play pretend and act as if the riots are nothing more than civil demonstrations.

What's going on?

Woods, an outspoken critic of the California Democratic governor, was crystal clear in his message to Newsom in a bombshell X post, demanding that he step down in the wake of his shameful lack of leadership.

"You are such a fraud," Woods said in a message directed at Newsom in a Monday morning X post, adding, "If it weren’t for a real leader protecting Californians from you, this whole state would be burning rubble. Resign!"

Woods' strong statement was in response to a post written by Newsom in which the governor implied that President Trump was "manufacturing" a "crisis," even going as far as suggesting that Trump's supporters were purposely making the situation worse.

In another X post, Woods wrote, "Yep. We not only have to watch our beautiful state burned and destroyed by invaders; we get to pay for it, too."

Breitbart noted:

Woods also reacted to an X post from FBI Director Kash Patel, which read, “Just so we are clear, this FBI needs no one’s permission to enforce the constitution. My responsibility is to the American people, not political punch lines. LA is under siege by marauding criminals, and we will restore law and order. I’m not asking you, I’m telling you.”

Social media reacts

Woods didn't have to look far for support in his message to Newsom, as many across social media agreed.

"Amen. He must resign or be recalled. He's totally incapable and culpable," one X user wrote.

Another X user wrote, "Well said. The man is supporting the current coup."

While it's unlikely that Newsom will resign, it'll be interesting to see how much pressure he faces as the riots continue to worsen.
