The actor Jonathan Majors, known for his role in the Sylvester Stallone-created Rocky series, is facing accusations of emotional abuse.

Majors is known for his role in Creed III, the latest movie in the Rocky series. His former girlfriend, 30-year-old Grace Jabbari, has accused Majors, 34, of trying to control her with suicide threats during their rocky relationship, which ended in an alleged physical assault during a cab ride.

'Rocky' actor accused....

She gave tearful testimony to the court about her relationship with Majors, who she described as verbally abusive, jealous and controlling.

Majors would sometimes break objects in fits of anger, she said. When he got into a bad mood, he would send her concerning text messages alluding to self-harm.

"I had to constantly look after him, I’d worry because I did not want that to happen."

Jabbari claims that Majors assaulted her during a scuffle in the back of a private car in March.

On the day of the alleged assault, Majors was angry, telling Jabbari to button up her blouse as they went out for a date. Over dinner, he made a suicide threat.

"He kept saying, 'I’m going to kill myself, this time I’m going to do it,'” Jabbari told the court.

Driver testifies

Jabbari claims that Majors struck her as they rode back to his apartment in Manhattan that night.

She says she went to grab Majors' phone when she saw an intimate text message from another woman.

That's when, according to Jabbari, Majors grabbed the phone and struck her, leaving Jabbari with a fractured middle finger and a cut behind the ear. Jabbari was treated at the hospital for minor injuries.

The driver of the black SUV told the court Monday that he did not see the altercation because his eyes were on the road, but he believed Jabbari to be the aggressor.

He had “a feeling the girl had hit the boy…because of the way that she was fighting, and the sounds produced.”

Defense to start this week

The jury was shown surveillance video of Majors pushing Jabbari back into the SUV after it parked.

“He was trying to throw her in the car,” the driver said. “He was saying, ‘Leave me alone. I have to go.'”

Majors' lawyer says that Jabbari was the aggressor and that she was not hurt because she went partying later that evening with strangers. Jabbari says she was upset about Majors' alleged infidelity and “didn’t want to be alone.”

The defense claims that Jabbari is trying to destroy Majors to get back at him after they separated.

He has pled not guilty to misdemeanor assault.
