Actor Kamar de los Reyes Dies At Age 56

Kamar de los Reyes has passed away.

He was 56-years-old and passed away in Los Angeles, his family just announced.

So sad.

The star was most well-known for his role as a gang member-turned-cop on the television show "One Life to Live" and was known to gamers as the voice of a villain in "Call of Duty: Black Ops II."

Kamar De los Reyes passed away on Christmas Eve 2023 after a brief battle with cancer.

The news was broken in a statement by Lisa Goldberg, a publicist for Kamar's wife, Sherri Saum.

In "One Life to Live," Kamar de los Reyes was known for playing Antonio Vega, a former gang member who first became a lawyer and then a cop. The Washington Times reports that that role was played "alongside Saum," his wife.

Kamar de los Reyes also had some roles in "Sleepy Hollow," "The Rookie," and "All American."

The family statement revealed that at his time of death, de los Reyes had been filming "All American" and had recently shot some appearances in the upcoming productions "Daredevil" and "Washington Black."

Kamar de los Reyes was born in Puerto Rico before moving to Las Vegas at an early age where he was raised.

His family provided a biography that indicates that Kamar de los Reyes decided we wanted to be an actor when he arrived in Los Angeles in the late 1980s. Early roles of his include an appearance in "Blade to the Heat," in which he played Pedro Quinn in the off-Broadway play. He also played Ferdinand in director George C. Wolfe's production of "The Tempest" for Shakespeare in the Park.

Some roles on the big screen include appearances in Oliver Stone's "Nixon," in "Salt" with Angelina Jolie, and "The Cell" with Jennifer Lopez.

"De los Reyes lived in Los Angeles, however, his heart never left Puerto Rico," the family's statement.

Rest in peace.

De los Reyes is survived by his wife and three sons. On son, Caylen, is 26. The other two are twins Michael and John, age nine.
