U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi just revealed that over 3,800 arrests have been made in Washington, D.C., alone, amid President Donald Trump's crackdown on crime in the nation's capital.

Bondi, according to Just the News, revealed as much in a message that she posted to social media on Sunday.

The latest stats

According to Bondi, law enforcement has made 3,837 arrests in D.C. since Trump ordered the crackdown.

Bondi, on Sunday, wrote:

At @POTUS direction, we are making America safe again: In Washington, DC our law enforcement partners have made 3,837 arrests to date and seized 361 illegal guns. In Memphis, 273 arrests have been made in just under a week and 73 illegal guns seized.

Bondi, as you can see, also included some figures for Memphis, Tennessee, one of the other areas of the country where federal law enforcement is helping to get local crime under control.

Just the News notes:

Trump has beefed under the federal security presence in Washington, D.C. He has deployed National Guard troops there as well as Memphis, where there have been recent protests against the move.

Federal law enforcement, under Trump's direction, has also been targeting several other areas, including Chicago, Illinois, and Portland, Oregon.

More details

Regarding the arrests in D.C., it was recently reported that over 1,000 of those arrests had to do with illegal immigration.

The New York Times reports:

ICE had made only 85 arrests in Washington from Jan. 20 through the end of July, according to data obtained by the Deportation Data Project. But from early August until mid-September, ICE made around 1,200 arrests, according to officials with knowledge of the data.

Assistant Homeland Security Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said that the arrests were of "gang members, kidnappers, drug traffickers and other violent thugs."

It is a similar story in Memphis.

The local outlet WREG reports:

In just under a week, Attorney General Pam Bondi says 273 arrests have been made and 73 illegal guns have been seized by the Memphis Safe Task Force. On Saturday, Bondi said the task force arrested 74 people and seized 16 illegal guns. “Arrests include multiple gang members, including one wanted for murder, and an illegal alien juvenile arrested with approximately two pounds of methamphetamines,” Bondi announced in a social media post.
