Former President Barack Obama's recent statements regarding Israel and its war with Hamas terrorists have sparked controversy and backlash.

According to Fox Business, Harvard Law professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz torched the former president's feelings toward the situation, specifically when he called for an end to Israeli "occupation."

During an interview, Dershowitz held nothing back.

The law professor made it clear that he believe Obama has a "deep hatred" of Israel that many may not have realized.

"He hid it very well"

Dershowitz laid out his thoughts on Obama's recent statements, arguing that it proves that his true feelings toward Israel have finally come out.

"I think he always had a deep hatred of Israel in his heart. He hid it very well. He called me to the Oval Office and he said to me, 'Alan, you've known me for a long time. You know I have Israel's back.' I didn't realize he meant to paint a target on it," Dershowitz recalled.

He added, "He's never been supportive of Israel. And finally, his true feelings have come out now that he's no longer president and doesn't have to be elected."

The Harvard law professor then suggested the former president offer an apology for his remarks, admitting that probably won't happen.

"He has contributed enormously to the problem because he is respected among young people. And if he says the occupation is unbearable and that anything can be done to stop it, he is encouraging people to engage in their antisemitic, anti-Israel and anti-American attitudes. He should be ashamed of himself. He should apologize, but he won't."

What did Obama say?

Dershowitz was referring to remarks made last week by Obama during a speech at the Obama Foundation's Democracy Forum.

"All of this is taking place against the backdrop of decades of failure to achieve a durable peace for both Israelis and Palestinians," Obama said at the time.

He added, "All of this is taking place against the backdrop of decades of failure to achieve a durable peace for both Israelis and Palestinians."

Dershowitz also warned that Obama's remarks not only put Israelis at risk, but also Americans, noting that Hamas-like attacks are "coming to a theater near you."
