The alleged mistress of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was once nearly kicked off of Air Force Two.

"New York Magazine's Olivia Nuzzi came close to being tossed off Air Force Two the day before the 2020 election," the Daily Mail reports

This all comes as media reports have exploded over the alleged affair between Kennedy and Nuzzi.

Many questions about the whole situation remain to be answered.

The Air Force Two incident

This incident did not happen on the current administration Air Force Two, but, rather, on the previous administration's Air Force Two. This is the place that is currently being used by Vice President Kamala Harris and was previously used by former Vice President Mike Pence.

The Daily Mail learned that Nuzzi was nearly thrown off of Pence's Air Force Two from a former aide of Pence. The Daily Mail explains:

The New York Magazine correspondent was chosen to be Pence's print "pool" reporter for the day, traveling to Michigan on November 2 so the VP could join President Donald Trump onstage for the final rallies of the 2020 cycle. The job of a pool reporter is to send news highlights, quotes and location updates for the president or vice president, but Nuzzi had different ideas.

Pence's aide told the Daily Mail that Nuzzi "was the most disrespectful person I've ever worked with." The aide claimed that Nuzzi only took the assignment to "mock everyone openly."

Among other things, the Daily Mail reports "Nuzzi went against journalistic protocol by breaking off-the-record agreements and sharing operational security details that she wasn't supposed to. And when she was asked to stop, she put all of that in the pool reports."

Despite all of this, ultimately, she was not removed from the plane.

Background

In the past few days, reports have alleged that Nuzzi has been in affair with Kennedy.

The New York Post reports:

Nuzzi was placed on leave from [New York] magazine after “she had engaged in a personal relationship with a former subject relevant to the 2024 campaign while she was reporting on the campaign, a violation of the magazine’s standards around conflicts of interest and disclosures,” the publication said Thursday. Other sources also told The Post that the top brass at New York Magazine were already aware of the relationship and that they confronted Nuzzi, despite reports that she had come clean to editors.

The claim is that the affair got out because the pair "weren't being particularly careful."

The details of the affair remain unknown. Nuzzi has claimed that it was never physical.

Kennedy, for his part, has only released a statement through a spokesperson, saying that he only met Nuzzi "once in his life for an interview she requested, which yielded a hit piece."
