Actress Angelina Jolie is now claiming that actor Bradd Pitt, her former husband, has abused her. 

This is according to TMZ, which has obtained this information from court documents.

Pitt, however, has already denied the claims. And, now, Pitt is making some claims of their own about Jolie.

Jolie and Pitt had been married from 2014 to 2019, and it appears that their separation has become extremely contentious, to say the least.

Jolie's accusation

These allegations are not entirely new. Jolie, in fact, has previously accused Pitt of having abused her during a family plane trip that took place in September 2016. But, now, Jolie is claiming that the abuse goes far beyond this one alleged incident.

"In court docs, obtained by TMZ, Angie's attorneys levied a heavy accusation against her ex -- namely, that he'd allegedly physically abused her before their incident in the sky in September 2016 ... which Angelina has maintained involved Brad putting hands on their kid," the outlet reports.

It continues, "We know Brad's denied that, and that the authorities cleared him of wrongdoing -- but Angelina has continued to insist it happened ... including here, where her attorneys say the abuse AJ claims to have endured via Brad actually pre-dated whatever happened in 2016."

According to TMZ, in the court documents, Jolie does not "detail" how Pitt allegedly abused her before this 2016 incident.

So, at this point, this is just a vague accusation with no supporting evidence.

Pitt responds

People magazine reports that it did not take long for Pitt to respond to Jolie's accusation.

"A Brad Pitt source calls Angelina Jolie’s new claims of past abuse a 'misdirection and distraction' as the exes continue their battle over their French winery Château Miraval," the outlet reports.

It is unclear who this source is. People, later in its report, writes:

[T]he Pitt source says, "This case isn’t about what took place on a plane in 2016. It’s about whether they had an agreement not to sell their interests in the winery and family home without the other’s consent. That’s what Brad and his team are focused on. They keep using the same tired playbook year after year.”

This is all part of a legal battle between Pitt and Jolie that is currently taking place over their French winery.

Breitbart News reports, "[Brad Pitt], the Fight Club star, is reportedly suing Jolie for allegedly trying to sell her shares of their winery, Château Miraval, to a third party."
