Yet another Democrat has decided to admit the obvious, namely, that Washington, D.C., does indeed have a problem with crime. 

Breitbart News reports that Jeffrey Goldberg, the Editor in Chief of The Atlantic, made the admission during a recent appearance on PBS.

It turns out that some things are so obvious that even some Democrats believe that lying about them is not the best strategy. D.C. crime, apparently, is one of these things.

This all comes amid President Donald Trump's crackdown on crime in the nation's capital.

"I don't want to downplay..."

It did come as a surprise to some that Goldberg made the admission that he did.

Here's what he said, "I don’t want to downplay — there’s a serious crime issue in the District of Columbia, especially in poorer areas."Goldberg, however, questioned Trump's so-called "militarization" of the District of Columbia.

He also said:

[P]eople who know the long history of home rule in D.C. understand that this is a very, very fraught racial issue as well. This is about giving the people of D.C. the right to self-government. This seems to be kind of an old — coming from an old playbook.

Goldberg is not the only Democrat to make an admission against interest. CNN, of all outlets, recently even admitted that Trump is having some success in D.C.

Reporter Gabe Cohen said:

This is one of the areas of focus that we have heard a lot of concerns about, crime around Union Station, people who are loitering outside. I will tell you, as somebody who walks this route all the time, it does seem like there are fewer people just sort of hanging around, but we don’t know exactly what that is.

Operation Make D.C. Safe Again

The Democrats have taken two different approaches to Trump's D.C. crime crackdown.

One approach is to do what Goldberg did, namely, admit that there is a serious problem but argue that Trump's handling of the problem is wrong. The other approach is fearmongering and hysteria.

Trump, as usual, is only concerned with getting the job done, and he is. The White House recently released a little video showing some of what is going on in D.C. to get crime under control. Take a look:

Trump recently wrote:

D.C. has been under siege from thugs and killers, but now, D.C. is back under Federal Control where it belongs. The White House is in charge. The Military and our Great Police will liberate this City, scrape away the filth, and make it safe, clean, habitable and beautiful once more!
