Democrats like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY) talk a big game until they begin to realize that they might have crossed the line, which is exactly what's happening right now.

AOC, a radical liberal who recently found herself in hot water after holding what amounted to a seminar for illegal aliens to avoid deportation, now wants to know if she's in legal hot water.

According to The Hill, the radical Squad member penned a letter to U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi seeking clarification on whether or not she will face charges for holding the seminar.

President Donald Trump's border czar, Tom Homan, had mentioned on several occasions that he believes AOC could have broken the law with the online conference she gave that informed illegals of their "rights" when encountering Border Patrol and ICE officials.

What did she write?

AOC, in the letter to Bondi, sought clarification on whether or not the Justice Department was ready to bring charges forth as a result of the previous threats from Homan.

She defended her actions in holding the seminar and suggested that Homan's threats were intended to "weaponize" the Justice Department against her.

"It has been 14 days since Mr. Homan first threatened to weaponize your agency, but I have not yet heard any referral from the federal government," she wrote. "Homan’s actions undercut core Constitutional rights and further transparency is necessary."

The Hill noted:

In her letter to Bondi, Ocasio-Cortez quotes the First Amendment, which prohibits “abridging the freedom of speech … or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

"Threatening criminal proceedings for exercising the First Amendment is itself a violation of the First Amendment," AOC wrote in the letter to AG Bondi.

"Educating the public about their rights, especially in a time of rising uncertainty, is a key part of our responsibility as elected officials,” the New York Democrat continued. “A government that uses threats of DOJ investigations to suppress free speech is a threat to all, regardless of political ideology."

What did Homan say?

Earlier this month, Homan quickly suggested after AOC's seminar that she could be facing legal consequences for potentially interfering with deportation policies.

The Hill noted:

A day after the event, he said Ocasio-Cortez might be “impeding” the government’s efforts to enforce immigration laws. Homan said he’d sent an email to the deputy attorney general asking him to examine the episode.

"Maybe AOC is going to be in trouble now," he said during a Fox News interview at the time.

It'll be interesting to see how AG Bondi responds and if AOC is, in fact, in legal trouble.
