It's no secret that former President Donald Trump could soon face an indictment as a result of the Stormy Daniels witch hunt investigation.

According to the Washington Examiner, if Trump is, in fact, indicted for whatever reason, former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, a Republican, believes Trump should immediately drop out of the running for 2024.

The former governor made the assertion in a USA Today interview.

The most likely indictment will be over a 2016 alleged "hush money" payment to the adult film actress, which was during the 2016 election cycle.

"It's out of respect"

Hutchinson explained why he believes an indictment would be an unnecessary distraction for the Republican Party as 2024 approaches.

"It's out of respect for the institution of the presidency of the United States. And, that's a distraction that is difficult to run for the highest office in the land under those circumstances," Hutchinson said in the interview.

He added, "I know he's going to say that they're politically motivated and all of those things, but the fact is, there's just a lot of turmoil out there with the number of investigations going on."

The Arkansas governor was never popular with tens of millions of Trump supporters in the first place, so it's not surprising to see that he was absolutely torched across social media for his comments.

"Former RINO Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson says President Trump should quit the 2024 Presidential Race if he's charged with a crime in the latest witch hunts against him top him from running.. Tell @AsaHutchinson what you think about him.." Matt Couch tweeted.

Trump's thoughts

The former president, well aware of the number of witch hunts and oftentimes hoax investigations against him and his interests, made crystal clear during his recent CPAC speech that he doesn't care what they throw at him: he's in it to win it.

"Oh, absolutely, I won’t even think about leaving,” Trump told reporters at CPAC. "Probably, it’ll enhance my numbers, but it’s a very bad thing for America. It’s very bad for the country."

Trump went on to vow to reverse the weaponization of federal institutions like the DOJ and FBI.

It's insane how Democrats can't seem to grasp that it doesn't matter what they throw at Trump, it's not going to work. Short of an actual criminal matter, Trump's not going anywhere, anytime soon.
