A message from Nicholas Roske's lawyers to a judge says that he is going to plead guilty to trying to kill U.S. Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

The Hill obtained a copy of the letter from Roske's lawyers on Wednesday. The letter was sent to U.S. District Judge Deborah L. Boardman and told her that Roske was going to plead guilty to charges regarding the attempt on Kavanaugh's life in 2022, as The Daily Caller reported.

“We write to inform the Court that Mr. Roske wishes to plead guilty to the one-count Indictment pending against him.

"Attached to this letter is a letter signed by Mr. Roske and counsel outlining, among other things, the offense to which he will plead guilty; the penalties and elements for that offense; and a factual basis in support of the guilty plea,” the letter reads.

More From The Letter

Also included in the letter was a request for a hearing on re-arraignment and Rule 11 for April 7th. On one count of attempted assassination, Roske is currently facing a life sentence.

The Hill reports that once Roske enters a guilty plea, he will admit to charges that she flew from California to Washington Dulles International Airport on June 7, 2022, and then took a cab to Kavanaugh's home in Maryland.

Transcripts of the justice's phone calls were made public on X in June 2022, indicating that he changed his mind and contacted the authorities upon reaching his residence.

Another Report

Journalist Jordan Fischer reported on the incident at the time, posting a transcript of Roske's 911 call.

"NEW: We’ve received audio of both of Nicholas Roske’s 911 calls early yesterday morning.

"In them, he tells a dispatcher he has an unloaded gun in a zip-tied suitcase and says he needs psychiatric help. The dispatcher asked who he knew in Maryland, and he said Brett Kavanaugh.

The Night of the Attempt

Police found a weapon, ammunition, zip ties, and other things. He also told the police that he planned to kill the judge.

When police questioned Roske, he said he was angry about the leak of the draft Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization decision, which overturned Roe v. Wade, and the chance that Kavanaugh would vote to "loosen gun control laws."

In the past, Roske's lawyers asked for "confessions allegedly given" so that the case could be thrown out in July 2022.
