The Hunter Biden drama can't go away soon enough for President Joe Biden and his 2024 campaign team, but it just keeps getting better.

According to the Washington Examiner, the latest headline regarding the president's sketchy son concerns Lunden Roberts, the mother of Hunter Biden's 4-year-old girl. Roberts recently filed a motion to have the first son arrested over a dispute regarding child support.

On Thursday, a lawyer for Roberts filed a motion to have Hunter Biden arrested, citing "civil contempt of incarceration."

The accusation means Roberts' lawyer doesn't believe Hunter Biden gave the full picture of his financial situation during the child support legal battle.

What's going on?

Roberts contends Hunter Biden hasn't exactly been forthcoming in the discovery process, suggesting he has more financial resources and assets than he's disclosed, hence the motion to have him arrested until he and his lawyers pony up the alleged omitted details.

"She seeks civil contempt of incarceration until such time as the defendant fully answers discovery and to be paid for her attorney’s fees and costs, which are paid from her child support payments and thereby a loss to the child in this case," the court filing said.

It added: "Specifically, the plaintiff seeks $20,000 to compensate for the discovery goose chases, hounding of the defendant, and need to constantly seek the court’s intervention."

The Examiner added:

The filing also stated that Roberts was seeking criminal contempt, which she alleges would "instill in the defendant a course of corrective behavior that will cause the defendant to change his ways and become compliant in the future."

Hunter Biden originally disavowed the young child's existence, let alone any relationship to the Biden family. That changed in 2019 when a judge-ordered paternity test proved Hunter Biden was the father.

The response

In response to the motion to have Hunter Biden arrested, his attorneys argued that they had no idea that there was a problem with their side of the discovery process.

His attorneys said Roberts' lawyer filed the motion "without ever providing any indication the supplements provided a week ago were unsatisfactory in any fashion nor in the hearing with the Court less than 24 hours before drafting the Motion before the Court."

It'll be interesting to see how the legal battle plays out. While arresting Hunter Biden probably won't happen, he's definitely still under the gun.

One has to wonder how this will factor into his father's 2024 bid for the White House. Only time will tell.
