Critics of President Joe Biden alleged that his attorney general frequently singled out American Christians for unfair treatment.

Yet as a recent report explained, Attorney General Pam Bondi is now working to reverse that practice.

Attorney general chairs task force on anti-Christian bias

According to the Daily Caller, an example of that came last month when Bondi hosted a meeting of the Task Force to Eradicate Anti-Christian Bias.

"As shown by our victims' stories today, Biden's Department of Justice [DOJ] abused and targeted peaceful Christians while ignoring violent, anti-Christian offenses," Bondi was quoted as saying in a DOJ press release.

"Thanks to President Trump, we have ended those abuses, and we will continue to work closely with every member of this Task Force to protect every American’s right to speak and worship freely," she added.

The task force was established via an executive order signed by President Donald Trump on February 6 and includes members of his cabinet.

DOJ indicts man for allegedly setting church on fire

Meanwhile, the DOJ has sought to address the wave of attacks on churches and pregnancy centers after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022.

In March, the DOJ indicted a man on six federal charges after he allegedly set fire to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Wiggins, Mississippi.

What's more, Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet Dhillon indicated that the DOJ will use the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act to safeguard centers that offer women alternatives to abortion.

"The FACE Act can be used to protect clinics where women get counseling about their options for abortion, and 200 of those have been violently attacked, firebombed, picketed and otherwise been obstructed over the last few years with zero action from the DOJ," she told the Daily Caller.

Former DOJ civil rights attorney welcomes change in direction

Former DOJ civil rights attorney Andrea Picciotti Bayer serves as director of the Conscience Project, and she told the Daily Caller that such moves are "exactly what Americans should expect from the federal government."

"For far too long the DOJ's Civil Rights Division ignored religious freedom and, at times, even was hostile to people of faith and churches," she said.

The conservative activist went on to assert that the Trump administration's "key efforts show that this pattern and practice is ending."
