Audio shows Biden was confused about year of son's death and when Hillary Clinton ran for president

During his 2024 reelection campaign, Democrats attempted to deny that then President Joe Biden was suffering from cognitive decline.

However, a newly released audio recording suggests that the president's medical condition was even worse than many critics suspected.

Recording made during interview with Robert Hur

The recording was made public by Axios on Friday, and it documents an interview conducted in October of 2023 by Special Counsel Robert Hur.

Hurr, who was investigating Biden's handling of classified material, at one point asked the president about where he stored documents.

"So, during this time when you were living at Chain Bridge Road and there were documents relating to the Penn Biden Center or the Biden Institute, or the Cancer Moonshot, or your book, where did you keep papers that related to those things that you were actively working?" Hur inquired.

"Well…. I, I, I, I, I, I don’t know. This is what — 2017, 2018, that area?" Biden asked before Hur confirmed the relevant time frame.

Biden was confused about year of his son's death, Clinton's White House run

"Remember, in this time frame, my son is either been deployed or is dying," Biden said in reference to Beau Biden, who passed away in 2015.

"And, so, it was, and by the way, there are still a lot of people at the time when I got out of the Senate that were encouraging me to run in this period, except the president," the president explained.

"I’m not — it’s not a mean thing to say, he just thought that she had a better shot of winning the presidency than I did," Biden continued.

He was apparently referring to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who unsuccessfully ran for president against Donald Trump in 2016.

Hur concluded that Biden was an "elderly man with a poor memory"

"And, so, I hadn’t, I hadn’t at this point, even though I’m at Penn, I hadn’t walked away from the idea that I might run for office again," Biden stated.

"You know, if I ran again I’d be running for president, and so what was happening though — What month did Beau die? Oh, God, May 30? Was it 2015 he died? I think it’s 2015," the president added.

Breitbart noted that Hur ultimately decided not to bring charges against Biden in February of 2024, partly due to the president's mental state.

He concluded that jurors would be likely to regard the president as being "a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory."
