Biden advisor blames Pelosi for president's failed reelection campaign
One of President Joe Biden's top advisors is blaming U.S. Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) for upending Biden's presidential campaign.
This is despite denials from Pelosi.
The top advisor placing the blame on Pelosi, according to the New York Post, is Anita Dunn. She is a White House senior adviser on communications.
Dunn, as we will see, is not too happy about how the Democrats have ousted Biden and how they have installed Vice President Kamala Harris in his place.
Background
There have been credible claims that Pelosi, the former speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, played a key role in getting Biden to end his reelection campaign. Pelosi, however, has denied this.
In a recent interview with CBS News, Pelosi said:
No, I wasn’t the leader of any pressure [campaign]. Let me say things that I didn’t do: I didn’t call one person. I did not call one person. I could always say to him, "I never called anybody." He knows that I love him very much
Pelosi went on to praise Biden, even going so far as to describe Biden as "Such a consequential president of the United States, a Mount Rushmore kind of president of the United States.
But, then, in a more recent interview, Pelosi changed her stance a bit. Speaking to New Yorker Radio Hour, on Thursday, she said, "I’ve never been that impressed with [Biden's] political operation."
The question remains as to whether she was so unimpressed that she forced Biden out.
"Absolutely"
Dunn believes that Pelosi "absolutely" played a major role in forcing Biden to give up his reelection campaign.
"You know, clearly there were leaders of the party who decided to go ahead and go very public. And that gave permission to other people to go public," Dunn told Politico.
The interviewer went on to ask Dunn, "Are you talking about senators and House members? Or do you mean like when Nancy Pelosi goes on TV twice when things feel like they’re dying down and reopens the debate?"
"Absolutely," Dunn replied. She, however, stopped short of describing the removal and replacement as a "coup" as many members of the political right have described it.
In case you are wondering, one of the big reasons why Dunn does not believe it was a coup is because Harris was not the one who had Biden removed and replaced. Rather, it was Democratic Party leaders.
