NBC News raised eyebrows earlier this week with a segment in which neurologist Dr. Tom Pitts cited video clips as evidence that President Joe Biden is suffering from Parkinson's disease.

In what may be an effort to dispel that notion, Biden has agreed to sit down for an interview with NBC News host Lester Holt.

Interview will air on Monday

According to Breitbart, NBC's Monica Alba confirmed in a social media post that the interview will take place in Austin, Texas this coming Monday.

Biden's conversation with Holt will come roughly a week and a half after the president sat down with ABC News host George Stephanopoulos.

When Stephanopoulos observed that some Democrats are calling for Biden to end his reelection campaign, the president grew defiant and insisted that only "the Lord Almighty" could convince him to quit.

Biden to lawmakers: Voters "have chosen me to be the nominee"

As Breitbart noted, Biden reiterated that message in a letter sent to congressional Democrats this week, stating that members of his party "have chosen me to be the nominee."

"Do we now just say this process didn't matter?" the president demanded. "The voters don’t have a say? I decline to do that."

"I feel a deep obligation to the faith and the trust the voters of the Democratic Party have placed in me to run this year," he insisted.

"It was their decision to make," Biden went on to declare. "Not the press, not the pundits, not the big donors, not any selected group of individuals, no matter how well intentioned."

George Clooney calls for Biden to step aside

However, those words appear not to have convinced Hollywood star and Democratic donor George Clooney, who called for Biden to withdraw from the race in a New York Times op-ed piece published on Wednesday.

"It's devastating to say it, but the Joe Biden I was with three weeks ago at the fund-raiser was not the Joe 'big F-ing deal' Biden of 2010," Clooney wrote.

"He wasn’t even the Joe Biden of 2020. He was the same man we all witnessed at the debate," the entertainment icon lamented.

"Was he tired? Yes. A cold? Maybe. But our party leaders need to stop telling us that 51 million people didn't see what we just saw," Clooney stated.
