President Joe Biden's recent public appearance has left many shocked.

In fact, it has left some - such as the New York Postasking whether it was Biden they saw or whether it was "the Ghost of Christmas Past."

This comes after Biden attended the White House’s National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Thursday night. A recording of the event can be found here.

But, chances are that you have never seen Biden looking like this.

Wow!

What has particularly caught the attention of many is Biden's hair. As you can see in the above photograph, it was a bit disheveled, to say the least.

The Post reports:

President Biden shocked attendees at the White House’s National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Thursday night when he doffed his stocking cap to reveal long, wispy locks — appearing more like a character out of Charles Dickens’ Yuletide classic than the commander-in-chief. His white, billowy hair stood on end from the wool cap’s static electricity, spooking the White House press corps by making him seem older — and ghostlier — than usual.

Pictures of the 82-year-old with the "white, billowy hair" have exploded on the internet with many drawing the comparison between Biden and a Dickens' character.

Biden himself seemed to be in a playful mood during the event.

It's not the only Biden Christmas problem

First Lady Jill Biden has also faced scrutiny recently for her Christmas decoration of the White House.

The Economic Times reports:

A Season of Peace and Light was Jill's theme for the White House this year, but many people thought her decor was ugly, with some even saying it made them think of a circus. A carousel of faux stuffed animals obscured the real fir, obstructing the famous official White House Christmas tree in the blue room.

There's more.

The outlet continues:

A maypole that resembled a circus tent seemed to be hanging from the top of the tree. In another room, the window drapes were replaced with multicoloured ribbon, creating the illusion of a fun house entrance. The First Lady had cutouts of paper angels hanging from the ceiling outside the Oval Office entrance.

This is not the first time the first lady has been criticized for her Christmas decorations. We all remember what happened last year.
