Biden calls GOP bribery allegations 'bunch of malarkey'

President Joe Biden responded to allegations on Thursday by the House GOP that he was involved in a multi-million dollar bribery scheme, calling them "a bunch of malarkey" as a way of trying to dismiss reporters' questions about them after a news conference with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

"Where's the money?" he tried to joke with reporters before calling the allegations "malarkey."

After the House Oversight Committee reviewed an FBI document detailing the bribery scheme this week, House GOP leaders called it "credible" and "legitimate."

“It's undeniable this document is legitimate," Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) tweeted.

False claims by Democrats

Democrats including Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) tried to claim that the allegations were already investigated in 2020, but were closed down at that time.

Former Attorney General Bill Barr disputed that claim to The Federalist, however.

"It's not true. It wasn't closed down," Barr said. "On the contrary, it was referred to Delaware for further investigation."

The source who was mentioned in the document was a confidential human source for several years, and was considered credible by the bureau.

The allegations

The source alleged that Burisma had paid Hunter and Joe Biden $5 million each in order for policy favors including getting prosecutor Victor Shokin to stop investigating them.

Joe Biden famously told a story in 2019 about getting Shokin fired when he was investigating Burisma, which shows that he acted in accordance with how Burisma wanted him to and bolsters the allegations.

A Burisma official apparently consulted with the FBI source about whether to pay off the Bidens, and said it was necessary because Hunter Biden was "dumb" and couldn't actually help them even though they were paying him $1 million a year to sit on the board.

Mainstream media sources appear to be buying Biden's line that the accusations are "malarkey." NBC News said the GOP was "attacking" Biden, and USA Today did not detail the allegations when reporting Biden's denial. NBC News also said the bank records didn't prove anything.

Mainstream media ignoring, and downplaying evidence

It's not surprising, given how partisan the mainstream media has become. Having successfully scared or shamed Democrats away from looking at other sources, it's likely many who don't follow conservative news don't have any idea that the House GOP now has bank records showing numerous payouts from foreign nationals to Biden family members.

And now they have evidence of a payout directly to Biden himself while he was the Vice President of the United States. It seems like it's only a matter of time before impeachment enters the picture, since there's no other way to hold Biden accountable while he is president.
