Biden calls Harris 'Vice President Trump' in latest gaffe amid calls for him to drop out of presidential race
President Joe Biden humiliated himself by calling Vice President Kamala Harris "Vice President Trump" during a news conference Thursday, CNBC reported. Trump mocked Biden for accidentally conceding to his competence while others called for Biden to step down from the presidential race.
Biden has been floundering since his abysmal debate performance against former President Donald Trump last month. In hopes of showing that Biden's cognitive struggles were not real, he held a solo news conference Thursday.
Unfortunately, all he did was provide the presumed GOP presidential nominee with even more ammunition by making the worst mistake of all. "I wouldn't have picked Vice President Trump did I think she's not qualified to be president," Biden said.

Trump Mocks Biden
After Biden made the monumental blunder, Trump rightly pounced on him for such a flub. In a post to his Truth Social Thursday, Trump ruthlessly mocked the confused president and the premise of the news conference.
"Crooked Joe begins his ‘Big Boy’ Press Conference with, ‘I wouldn’t have picked Vice President Trump to be vice president, though I think she was not qualified to be president. Great job, Joe!" Trump wrote.
Indeed, the administration actually said that the event was Biden's "big boy" news conference as they had high hopes a solid performance would revive his candidacy. Unfortunately, Biden did little to move the needle back in his favor.
During the same news conference, he was asked to comment on Trump's use of the opportunity to mock him. "Listen to him," he shot back at the reporter as he exited the stage.
Continued Calls to Step Down
Biden has been hemorrhaging support since the disastrous debate with the trend calls continuing after Thursday's news conference. Rep. Jim Himes (D-CT) released a statement demanding just that minutes after Biden concluded the presser.
He was followed by Rep. Scott Peters (D-CA), who similarly issued a statement asking Biden to get out of the race before Democrats lose the presidency. "The stakes are high, and we are on a losing course," Peters wrote.
As awful as the mixup with his vice president was, it wasn't even the worst mistake he made that day. According to the New York Post, in an event just before the news conference, Biden accidentally introduced Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as President Vladimir Putin.
"And now I want to hand it over to the president of Ukraine, who has as much courage as he has determination," Biden began. "Ladies and gentlemen, President Putin," he added.
These embarrassing mishaps keep occurring because Biden is clearly suffering from a severe decline in his cognitive abilities. Democrats are in trouble, but there's no clear exit strategy with Biden still hanging on.
