President Joe Biden said his administration is seeking to cut costs on health care costs and certain drugs, accusing Republicans of wanting to cut Medicare for many Americans.
Biden shared the remarks during a speech in Las Vegas to highlight his plans to lower drug prices for Americans struggling with inflation.

“MAGA Republicans in Congress don’t think any of this is a good idea,” Biden said.
“They think Big Pharma should be able to make the exorbitant profits at the expense of the American people," he added.
Some MAGA Republicans in Congress have called for defunding the police, abolishing the FBI, and cutting mental health services.
Meanwhile, my budget invests in safer communities and access to mental health care.
Like I always say: a budget is a statement of values.

The comments are part of a growing number of references by Biden against "MAGA Republicans," a term clearly focused on GOP members supportive of former President Donald Trump.
He has recently made sweeping accusations against such Republicans, ranging across a full spectrum of issues.
"Some MAGA Republicans in Congress have called for defunding the police, abolishing the FBI, and cutting mental health services," Biden tweeted.
MAGA Republicans in Congress clearly don’t care about fiscal responsibility.
Not when their promises would add $3 trillion to our debt.
Not when they're threatening to not pay our bills.
Not when the last Administration created 25% of the entire national debt.— President Biden (@POTUS) March 6, 2023
The accusations have often been far from accurate. No GOP lawmaker has called to defund the police, for example.
Most Republicans also have no plans to abolish the FBI, though many in the party want to investigate the agency after strong bias appears to be at work in investigations such as Hunter Biden's laptop.
A similar argument can be made over the president's plans to lower drug prices. He is seeking efforts to lower insulin costs but only after policies that have led to generation-high inflation that has lowered the buying power for Americans.
The latest attempt to spin his policies ahead of a 2024 presidential announcement is expected but is also largely misleading.
Americans realize prices are up under Biden and that there are no plans in the works to fix the damage, leaving his administration to focus on other areas to look good ahead of the next election.
