The Biden Department of Homeland Security (DHS) released over 150,000 border crossers into the U.S. last summer without a Notice to Appear in immigration court, internal DHS footage from the agency revealed

“You know over the summer, we had well over 150,000 folks come in,” an ICE official stated in the footage of ICE training. “They were issued a piece of paper that said, ‘Find somebody in ICE,’ and that was pretty much it. There was no processing. I know this isn’t something that you guys asked for, and I can assure you that no one in the criminal alien program asked for it either.”

Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody obtained the footage through her legal efforts to stop illegal immigration by suing the Biden administration.

The case will go to court in January 2023, and her findings were part of the case's preparation.

No intention to deport

She suggested in a statement that President Joe Biden has no intention to deport those it releases into the country even if their asylum claims turn out not to be valid.

"This has been this administration’s plan all along,” Moody said. They’ve let in and lost track of hundreds of thousands of inadmissible immigrants, and it will get worse if Title 42 expires. We will continue our litigation efforts to force Biden to follow the law and try to mitigate this national disaster.”

"They’re playing fast and loose with the lives of Americans to advance an absurd political agenda," she added.

Moody released clips of the ICE training videos on her YouTube channel on December 20.

Millions of migrant encounters

Over 2.7 million illegal immigrant encounters have been reported during the last fiscal year ending September 2022. Of those, 1.4 million migrants were released into the U.S., most with a vague NTA that asked them to check in with ICE when they resettled.

Like other Republicans, Moody is worried that ending Title 42 will exacerbate the illegal immigration problem and overload the system, making it impossible to control further immigration.

A recent Supreme Court order has kept Title 42 in place for now. The idea behind the original Trump-era order was to reject most border crossers for health reasons during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The pandemic's end led Biden and Democrats to want to end the order, but various courts have slowed down that process because it could lead to an unmanageable spike in border crossings.

Biden was wrong

History will show that it was one of Biden's biggest mistakes to summarily reverse all of former President Donald Trump's border policies in an attempt to be and be perceived as kinder and gentler on immigration than his predecessor.

Immigration has been at record levels for most of Biden's presidency, and what the country is going to end up doing with untold millions of illegal immigrants is anyone's guess.
